We were thrilled to hear of this location! Within John Ball Park Zoo lays The Bissell Treehouse, overlooking the beautiful city of Grand Rapids, MI! July in Michigan can be a very hot month, however, for Katy and Curtis, mother nature was on their side. The partly sunny skies and low humidity set the stage for a beautiful day with stunning scenery.
The day offered many wonderful locations for photos. We especially loved the zoo. Yes, we are animal lovers and being that close to the exotic wildlife was a blast.
The day started at Echo Salon where Katy and the ladies were being treated like royalty. With Mimosa’s, some good pampering, and Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper Kettle Chips, what more could a girl need?
Meanwhile, Curtis and his groomsmen were enjoying some beverages, good company and televised sporting events at the Courtyard Marriott as they awaited for Katie’s arrival.
As Katy and her bridesmaids grew closer to the iconic blue bridge in downtown Grand Rapids, we staged a special moment between her and her father before bringing down Curtis for their first look! His face was priceless! How proud he is to be marrying the woman of his dreams.
After making our way to the Zoo’s entrance for formal and fun bridal party photos we began to walk up with the soon to be newlyweds to the venue for a look at the wonderful reception decor. With hints of Beauty and the Beast theme throughout, it surely was a tale as old as time. Can you spot any Beauty and the Beast elements?
A beautiful ceremony outdoors overlooking the city of Grand Rapids lead to a big celebration inside the treehouse with the newlyweds closest family and friends. The evening wrapped with a bang! Literally! The city’s 4th of July firework display was easily viewable from the elevated hillside overlooking the city.
Congratulations Katy and Curtis! Thank you for allowing us to capture your happily ever after!
